Our Wake Up Call series is my favorite excuse to peek inside the mornings of women I admire—those who pursue what lights them up and are on a journey toward personal growth. Because in my experience, a happy life starts with a meaningful morning—it influences how you show up all day. It’s been a while since our last Wake Up Call, and I’m excited to be back with today’s subject.

I’ve long admired Melanie Masarin’s ability to chart her own path—one that seamlessly blends her love of food, travel, design, and culture. As the founder and CEO of Ghia, she brought a fresh perspective to the world of non-alcoholic aperitifs, capturing the spirit of the Mediterranean in a bottle. She also writes Night Shade, a Substack that feels like a note from your most in-the-know friend, full of cultural discoveries and her style POV.

Melanie splits her time between New York and Paris, and while she very much falls into the “it girl” category, it’s on her own terms, staying true to her instincts instead of chasing trends. With her first cookbook set to release in spring 2026 (an ode to the French Riviera and her deep love of food), Melanie continues to carve out a career that’s not only inspiring, but deeply personal.

In today’s Wake Up Call, Melanie lets us in on the morning rhythms that fuel her creativity—complete with strong coffee and her signature dose of j’en sais quoi.
