Life, Lately: Packing for Bali and Healthy Summer Dinners
Plus, THE spicy watermelon salad, slow eating benefits, and Bobbi Brown's summer beauty rules.
Hey everyone, today we’re trying something new. Welcome to Life, Lately—an occasional series where I share everything I’ve been texting my friends: what I’m reading, recipes I’ve been making on repeat, inspiring links I’ve saved, and random thoughts I can’t stop thinking about. I’ve been wanting a place where we can catch up on life behind the scenes and swap discoveries that make life easier and more inspiring. Let’s dive in.
It’s been a week of so much devastation here in Texas. It’s hard to reconcile the ups and downs of everyday life with the unimaginable pain that so many are going through. Friends, neighbors, parents of our kids’ classmates had girls at Camp Mystic last week. Most were safe, and some were lost—and my heart breaks for the loss of so many this week—homes, loved ones, life as they knew it. This is a beautiful tribute to those sweet and brave girls. There are lots of ways to help online—I’m donating to the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund.
This week, I’m in prep mode for our trip to Bali. I’ve got a handful of projects to wrap up before I unplug for 10 days, but TBH the anticipation is giving me enough adrenaline to power through. Today we’re talking about the simple but delish dinner recipes getting me through summer, the podcast I’ve been bingeing, what Bobbi Brown told me about beauty, my continued quest to eat more slowly, and what I’ve started packing for Bali.
Also: I’ll be answering your questions in our first Ask Me Anything this Sunday. If you haven’t submitted yours yet, you can drop it in this short form.
Okay, hope you enjoy ❤️
