I’ve had a lot of work travel this fall, and while I’ve loved the new opportunities that have taken me from New York to LA (I’m currently in Chicago!), let’s be real: lots of travel does not usually equal healthy habits. Early flights, late nights, and the convenience of airport food take a major toll if I’m not extremely intentional with my planning. You know that feeling—you get home from a trip, only to feel like you need a week (and a major detox) to recover from the lack of sleep, restaurant meals, and zero exercise.
So, this season I was determined not to let travel derail my health goals. I’ve prioritized sleep by saying no to super-early flights and late-night dinners. And I’ve zeroed in on which travel snacks will keep me fueled on flight days. Paying attention to what I need to feel my best while traveling makes me feel like I’ve unlocked the secret to coming home still feeling energized.
All of this has led to a very dialed-in packing strategy, so I thought I’d share what’s currently in my carry-on these days.
But first, I’d love to hear from you in the comments…
What’s in your travel toolkit? Are there certain snacks, beauty, or in-flight entertainment you can’t live without?
Before we dive in, a few things I wanted to mention:
Our Gift Guides just launched, and I highly recommend bookmarking this page to find the perfect gift ideas for everyone on your list. IMHO this year’s guides are better than ever.
I might have developed a small addiction to this Brussels sprouts salad (yes it’s possible)—I’ve been making it every week and eating it most days for lunch with a side of protein.
The best podcast episode I listened to all week.
I’m heading to Denver later this week to host the Haven Well Within store opening at Cherry Creek. If you’re in Denver (or have friends who are), come and say hey!
