10 Things I Bought and Loved in May
From summer skin secrets to the sneakers I keep rebuying—these are good.
This post is brought to you by Target, with additional consideration from Branch Basics.
Sorry, but it must be said: HAPPY SUMMER!!!
Don’t come at me with the “official” first day on the calendar, because according to me, summer starts the moment Memorial Day weekend hits, and my friends—we have arrived. Personally, I want summer to feel like it stretches on forever, those long, lazy days where time slows down. So let’s go ahead and stretch the season as far as it can go.
Here’s what’s making me giddy for the summer ahead: peak-season strawberries, the scent of sunscreen, linen everything, salty hair, spritzes on a patio, no makeup, and saying “yes” to spontaneous experiences. Summer’s magic doesn’t require a big vacation. It’s a state of mind that’s fun, flirty, and free—and embracing it is a choice.

This time last year, we were gearing up for our family trip to Ibiza to celebrate my 40th. Three weeks of getting lost on the island in our tiny convertible, swimming in the sea, and chasing the sunset each night. It was truly the adventure I’d dreamed of.
This year, my birthday falls on the kids’ last day of school, and honestly—all I want is to go get ice cream, jump in the pool, read a good book, and stretch out on a blanket under the stars. Different vibe, and perfect in its own way.
At its heart, what makes summer special is its simplicity. Less doing, more being. Less planning, more presence. So as we kick off the season, here’s my challenge to all of us: What can you let go of to create more space to enjoy your life? Let’s strip it back to what really matters—let it be easy, and savor every juicy minute.
Weekly Recos
Before we get into my favorite buys of the month, here are a few things I’ve been wanting to share with you:
📖 A read that spoke to me this week: The Comfortable Life is Killing You “We exist in an age of abundance, yet many of us rot from within.”
🎧 Podcast I’m loving: Emma Grede’s smart conversations with powerhouse women—inspiring, real, and easy to listen to while making dinner.
🥬 Summer dinner salad season is here. To be considered “dinner” in my book, a salad must be full of vibrant produce, lots of textures, and enough satiating protein to feel like a full meal. Currently on repeat: this Farmers Market Steak Salad and my Citrus Salmon Salad with Avocado.
☀️ PSA for my fellow design lovers: Casa Zuma Memorial Day Sale is live for just 24 more hours—everything’s up to 30% off. If you’ve had your eye on our recycled glassware or one of our outdoor furniture pieces, now’s your moment!
10 Things I Bought and Loved in May
Lots of fun finds I've been dying to share this month! I’d love to hear what you’ve been discovering lately (beauty, wellness, books, home finds, food), so drop yours in the comments.

1. How to Romanticize Your Summer
Sure you could grab a cheap thin beach towel, but why when these luxurious oversized Target towels exist? These have been my favorite beach towels for a few years now—I love the yellow and cream and the blue cabana stripes. They’re big enough to double as picnic blankets, so I always keep a couple stashed in my beach bag and car for impromptu summer swims, beach picnics, and laying in the backyard looking up at the trees.
The entire summer collection at Target is so fun right now. We picked up a few of these chic pool floats and are officially ready for summer parties.
2. A Clean Beauty Glow-Up
I discovered this Milk + Tansy Bi-Phase Essence at a Beauty Heroes brunch this month (their boxes are incredible if you’re into clean beauty). This essence is made with blue tansy oil, baobab fruit, Kalahari melon, and jojoba—and the hydration is next-level. After cleansing, you shake to activate, then press into skin with your hands. It’s a ritual that truly makes me feel like I’m at a spa in my own bathroom.
3. My Favorite Clean Home Brand—Now at Target
Over the past year, I've been taking steps to detox our home of chemicals, fragrances, etc, and one of the best (and easiest) things I did was replace all my cleaning supplies with Branch Basics. Well, the brand just launched at Target, and I could not be happier about it. No harsh chemicals, no fragrance, just safe ingredients that really work. If you’ve been curious about “cleaning up” your home, this is an easy place to start.
4. I’m a Golfer Now
You may have seen on my Instagram stories that I started taking golf lessons, and let’s just say: it’s humbling. But so fun! (Golf is hard.) Adam advised that I shouldn’t “dress the part” until I actually learned how to play, but naturally, I needed a cute outfit to boost morale. Enter: this Court Dress, Club Cap, and Club Stripe Socks, aka my official uniform. (The whole look works just as well for tennis, pickleball, or channeling country club energy at the grocery store.)
5. Hit the Clubs
Clubs are expensive—I ordered a used TaylorMade set from Global Golf, which was a great move (thanks, Dad!). But I needed a bag with style, and after a quick search, I discovered the El Camino from Sunday Golf and knew it was the one. Okay, promise I’m done talking about golf.

6. Dressed-up pajamas
When I wore this to the opening of Jones Road in Austin, Bobbi Brown told me she “loved this outfit”, and that’s all I really need to know. I’ll wear the Bilma Shirt and Nicolo Shorts with heels and gold jewelry for dinner out, or over a swimsuit for staying in. An effortless one-and-done summer look.
7. Creativity > Anxiety
Beyond Anxiety: Curiosity, Creativity, and Finding Your Life’s Purpose caught my eye when I was looking for something new to read—and it’s one of the most fascinating nonfiction books I’ve picked up in a while. It explores how we try to “conquer” anxiety in ways that actually backfire. Instead, we can learn to shut down the anxiety spiral by turning on the “creativity spiral,” leading to more joy, purpose, and calm throughout every area of life. A beautiful, empowering reframe.
8. Casual + chic wine glasses
I’ve been wanting to add a true wine glass to our Casa Zuma collection for a long time—and it’s finally here. We already had our stemless wine glass, as well as our petite goblets, but I wanted to round things out with a stemmed glass that’s big enough for a generous pour. Especially since most of the “traditional” wine glasses out there feel too delicate and stuffy for Casa Zuma’s beachy vibes.
I’ve been working with our artisan team in Guatemala to design this perfect shape using 100% locally-sourced recycled glass. It’s perfect for wine, water, and spritzes all summer.
9. A Sneaker Repeater
It’s rare for me to repurchase the exact same pair of shoes, so when I do, you know they’re good. I wore my first pair of these New Balances sneaks into the ground and went searching for a new sneaker. After a massive internet search, I ended up reordering these because they’re just that perfect.
10. My Air Dry Hair Secret
After I shared my air-dry wave method in my Stories, a lot of you asked for the details—so here’s the secret: this Air Dry Mousse. I use it on towel-dried hair at night, twist two sections away from my face (like a two-piece French braid, one strand over the other), and secure with scrunchies. By morning: loose, beachy waves with zero effort. The mousse is the hero—start there and play.
In love with your golf outfit! I had a mini golf date with my daughter today, I’m inspired to up my outfit game for next time. x
